When I started this course I knew I wanted to take photos, I knew my way around my camera pretty fluently, and I knew there was something consistent that ran through my imagery…though I didn’t know what it was. Throughout the course I have been encouraged, motivated, inspired, and in some cases pushed, to create new opportunities for myself, speak to local businesses, reach out and try new types of photography, try new techniques, challenge my habits and my views of my own work. I have been shooting local bar interiors, weddings, had a stand at the National Wedding Show and had my work used on music album covers and bar menus. I wasn't expecting the course to have such an effect on me on a personal sense, I went in to the course as an amateur hobby photographer looking for tips to improve and hie to make inroads into business side of thingsMatt and Tamsin asked questions of us as people and taking ourselves out of our comfort zones to put ourselves into new situations, doing that really makes you see what you are about, going through these situations and hearing other course members experiences really helps grow confidence and gives you an idea of what you need to work on whether its photography, business or based on your character.

I have been working as a photographer for 5 years, & previously worked as an art director in film and tv. When I moved to Cornwall I started working as an interior photographer. Although I love working in interiors, I have had itchy feet for a few years. I was uncertain how to branch out without feeling intimidated, then I saw that Studio M were doing a course this year, & I'd been a big fan of Matt for a while. It seemed perfect.⁠⁠

I can honestly say it has been a total game changer. Not only have I been introduced to a wonderful group of talented photographers across the world, but the content has been really beneficial to me and my photography career.⁠⁠

The relaxed and informative approach, content and great module challenges have pushed me totally out of my comfort zone, and encouraged me to broaden my horizons beyond the world of architectures and interiors. In a short space of time I have found that, through sharing my Studio M coursework on social media, I am taking on new clients and projects that I previously didn’t think were on my radar.⁠⁠
